Title:  Mental Performance Coaching: Finding Space in the Cancer Community!

Presenter: Keisha Hart, M.S.

Hi, I am Keisha Hart!

Let’s get the credentials out of the way. They are important, but my story and my “Why” are definitely what I want you to know about me.

I have a bachelor’s in psychology and a master's in sport and performance psychology.

Okay, now onto the good stuff.

The spark to be a mental performance consultant came from my undergrad psychology professor, Professor Maudlin. She asked me to read The Foundations of Sport and Exercise Psychology. It was my first storytime, much better than a fairytale and one that truly inspired me towards my passion for helping others.

Early on, I worked closely with female Olympic weightlifters and created a successful confidence workshop at several local CrossFit gyms. And wow, did this really brighten and liven my passion for both individual and team athletes. While working with these groups we built confidence, created sustainable habits, and gained more self-awareness. As both my experience and knowledge grew, I was guided towards working with athletes impacted by breast cancer with BFB, a worldwide recognized nonprofit with the mission to provide physical and mental wellbeing support for women impacted by breast cancer. During my two years as the mental performance coach and while helping to establish its signature Resources After Diagnosis Program, I recognized that I wanted to expand my career focus and help others take control of their mental well-being and reach their full potential. And so, I continued on to my next life purpose, Keisha Christine Mental Performance. I created my consulting business to work with individuals, to collaborate with teams and create a 10-week course and impact others through public speaking events. Essentially, I empowered myself to make a bigger impact knowing my “Why” and my own skillset. I created and set goals and lived my truth so that I can further help others to do the same. My enthusiasm for what I do is one of the characteristics I am most proud of having."
