Hello LACPA Community,

The CBT and Trauma SIG is pleased to present another outstanding cross-SIG event to close out 2025 on a high note! Please join Dr. Caitlin Pinciotti, a leading researcher and clinician in the study of co-occurring OCD and PTSD, for an insightful presentation. The presentation is open to LACPA members only.

When: Friday, December 5th, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. (via Zoom, 90 minutes)
Title: Co-Occurring OCD and PTSD: Implications for Assessment and Treatment

Learning Goals:

  • Learn about the different ways that trauma can intersect with OCD
  • Differentiate similarly presenting and functioning symptoms of OCD and PTSD.
  • Explain the similarities and differences between exposure therapy treatment approaches for OCD and PTSD. 
 
About the Presenter:

Dr. Pinciotti is a licensed clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. Her research and clinical work focus on obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, and PTSD. She completed her PhD at Northern Illinois University and clinical training at Rogers Behavioral Health, specializing in exposure-based treatment for OCD and anxiety-related disorders. In 2024, she received the Bicentennial Lectureship from the Hartford Hospital Institute of Living for her leadership in justice-based approaches to exposure therapy.
