Hello LACPA community, I am excited to announce an upcoming presentation with Dr. Max Maisel on Monday, October 6th, at 12 PM (via Zoom), hosted by the LACPA CBT SIG. Treating OCD in Private Practice
This presentation provides therapists with practical tools and frameworks for identifying and treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in outpatient settings. Participants will learn about the nuances of OCD presentation, evidence-based treatment strategies such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), common pitfalls in therapy, and when referral to specialized care may be necessary. Emphasis will be placed on using metaphors, functional assessment, and integrative approaches to better support clients struggling with this often-misunderstood condition.
Goals for Participants 1. Expand clinical competence 2. Apply effective interventions 3.
