Sunday, March 15, 2026, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM PDT
Category: Special Interest Groups
This presentation explores the emotional, psychological, and practical challenges individuals and their families often face as they approach the end of life. Participants will gain insight into common sources of distress, including anticipatory grief, complex family dynamics, and financial and care-related concerns. The discussion will also provide an overview of end-of-life care options, along with the emerging role of death doulas in supporting patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Lisa Pahl, LCSW, APHSW-C is the CEO and Founder of The Death Deck, a company dedicated to creating tools that inspire meaningful conversations about what matters most in our lives—and in our deaths. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over eighteen years of experience in hospice and seven years in emergency medicine, Lisa provides education and clinical support on end-of-life care, grief, serious illness, and advance care planning.
No need to RSVP more than once. You will receive an acknowledgment, and the link will be emailed a day or two before the meeting. Please RSVP separately for each of our SIG meetings. While SIGs are usually available only to LACPA members, they are open to all in March and April. Feel free to invite colleagues to this event. We look forward to seeing you on March 15!
