Join LACPA’s Business of Practice SIG meeting! Friday, February 20, 12:00 – 1:00 Pacific Time Title: Past, Present, and Future of Psychology Practice Presenter: Dr. Arthur Kovacs Content: Dr. Kovacs will draw on his long-lived experience of being in practice to illuminate how the profession was born, the errors made along the way and what lies in store for it in the decades ahead. All of us in the profession will benefit from making changes to get ready for the future of our field. About the Presenter: Dr. Kovacs is 94 years old and has been pursuing his career in the practice of independent psychology for 67 years. He is also the Founding Dean Emeritus of the CSPP-Alliant Los Angeles Campus. In these capacities, Dr. Kovacs has done clinical work with about 2,500 clients (children, adolescents, young adults, the elderly, couples, and families). He has also trained or supervised the clinical work of about 1,200 graduate students preparing to enter the profession. Finally, has devoted hundreds of hours of volunteer time to the American Psychological Association where he served terms as President of its Division of Independent Practice and its Division of Psychotherapy.
