I’d like to invite you to an exciting upcoming CBT SIG presentation with Dr. Jonathan Westman and Dr. Isabelle Lanser on Wednesday, September 23 at 12 PM. They will present:

Radically Open DBT (RO DBT): Evidence-Based Treatment for Problems of Overcontrol

Learning Objectives:

• Compare and contrast Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT) with other evidence-based treatments for problems associated with overcontrol.

• Apply the three components of the biosocial theory of overcontrol to case conceptualization.

• Describe the structure of RO DBT treatment, including the individual treatment target hierarchy and its application to clinical practice.

Dr. Jonathan Westman is a licensed clinical psychologist and co-founder of Lanser Westman Psychology Group in Los Angeles. After receiving his Ph.D. from UCLA, he completed his internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the West Los Angeles VA, where he received specialized training in mindfulness-based interventions and behavioral sleep treatments. He has a particular interest in working with overcontrolled men with a range of clinical presentations and life circumstances.

Dr. Isabelle Lanser is a licensed clinical psychologist and co-founder of Lanser Westman Psychology Group in Los Angeles. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Throughout graduate school, Dr. Lanser completed her predoctoral internship at UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services and her postdoctoral training at the UCLA Anxiety and Depression Research Center. She has expertise in depression, stress and burnout, eating disorders, and postpartum mental health, and specializes in working with people who feel emotionally numb, disconnected, and unfulfilled.
