Virtual Couple and Sex Therapy Special Interest Group

LACPA SIGs, Clubs, and Networking Groups are open to non-members during September and October.

The Couple SIG and Sex Therapy SIG are combing to have a discussion on the topic of Sex, Dating and Relationships in the Time of Covid.
We will meet on Zoom Friday October 2 12-1:30.
 
  We will discuss:
How has dating been affected by COVID?  What are some safe alternate dating practices during this time?
How have sexual practices been affected by COVID?  What are some safe alternate sexual practices during this time?
How have couples' relationships been affected by COVID?
How do you think dating and sex will look different post COVID?
 
The discussion will be led by the Chair people of these two Special Interest Groups.

Dr. Laura Prescott received her undergraduate degree from the University of San Diego and her doctoral degree from Loma Linda University. She has been a licensed clinical psychologist since 2010. She trained and worked in such settings as college counseling centers, outpatient mental health clinics, field-based mental health agencies, and inpatient psychiatric facilities. Dr. Prescott has served as a therapist, supervisor, practicum training director, and instructor. She is currently the Director of Clinical Training and an Associate Professor in the Clinical Psy.D. Department at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. Some of her areas of interest include human sexuality, clinical training and supervision, teaching pedagogy, the psychology of creativity and the arts, eating disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, geropsychology, and college students. Chair of the Sex and Sex Therapy SIG
Margaret Altschul, MBA, MA, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a background in education and business. In addition to working with couples, Margaret applies her training and experience in using EFT and Gottman methods to help adults improve difficult relationships with parents, siblings and people at work. Margaret is authorized by the CA Office of Problem Gambling to provide counseling (at no cost to the client) to people with gambling addiction as well as family members affected by gambling.  While Margaret is currently offering telehealth throughout LA County, her office is in Encino. Chair of the Couples SIG.
 
Please note that October Special Interest Groups are open to professional colleagues. Please invite people who are either licensed or who are graduate students or associates.
