Individuals with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can present with thoughts that make them appear suicidal or dangerous to others. Being accurately assessed can mean the difference between progress toward recovery or growth of the disorder. This presentation will explain how obsessions can be misunderstood, and ways to better identify obsessions.

Michelle Witkin, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist with over 25 years experience. She is in private practice in Valencia, CA, where she specializes in treating children, teens, and adults with OCD and anxiety disorders.  She is a graduate of the International OCD Foundation's Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) and Pediatric BTTI, and is a Clinical Fellow of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.
