Virtual Diversity Panel on Intersectionality & LGBTQ Issues

Free LACPA Member Event  

 

 

 

This 2-hour event will feature a panel of distinguished speakers discussing their experiences of their own intersecting identities, statistics about the experience of minority LGBTQ members, as well as what they wish clinicians and practitioners knew about their communities. 


We are delighted to announce our panelists: 

  1. Our very own Dr. Mimi Hoang, who has been named "one of the most significant women in the bisexual movement" and is a bi+ and Asian/Pacific Islander activist, educator, and clinician in Los Angeles County. You can read more about her here: http://www.drmimihoang.com/index.html 

  2.  Dr. Roberto Abreu, who is the founder of the Chevere Lab in Florida and is on the APA taskforce for revising guidelines for working with sexual minority clients. He is also a researcher, professor, educator, and advocate for queer and indigenous/persons of color communities, especially the Latinx community which is his research focus https://cheverelab.com/drabreu 

  3. Sonali ("Alyy") Patel, founder of the Queer South Asian Womxn's Network in Canada and who is a researcher and community organizer working to create accepting spaces for doubly marginalized queer communities  https://www.linkedin.com/in/patelsonali1/?originalSubdomain=ca
