Group Therapy in Private Practice
A panel discussion on how to develop and market group therapy in private practice 
 
Presented by Rena Pollak, LMFT, Gozde Gokozan, LMFT 
& Dustin Weissman, Psy.D. 

Do you want to offer Group therapy in your private practice but don’t know where to being? Do you feel overwhelmed by ethical considerations? How would you even go about marketing it?  

Come and join the Encino Networking virtual meeting on how to develop and market group therapy in private practice! Our discussion will address how to set it up, how to talk to clients about group therapy, how to maintain it, and the benefits and challenges to one’s private practice. 

Our Presenters: We are excited to have three mental health professionals who have been running successful group therapy in their private practices. 

Rena Pollak, LMFT has dedicated herself to the practice of interpersonal group therapy since her traineeship in 2010.  She provides group therapy as well as individual and couple’s counseling in her private practice in Encino.  In addition to leading process groups, Rena has led cancer support groups, child and adolescent grief groups, and parenting groups.  She has had hundreds of hours of group therapy training, involvement in group therapy consultation as well as being a participant in therapy groups.   She has earned a Certification in Group Therapy from the International Board of Group Therapy.   

 

Gozde Gokozan, LMFT, LPCC  is a licensed psychotherapist who works with a diverse group of clients via virtual and in-person at Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. Gozde currently facilitates grief and mild traumatic brain injuries process groups for children and adults. Gozde received a Master's of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, Los Angeles. Gozde is currently working toward her doctoral degree in Applied Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

 

Dr. Dustin Weissman, PSY32130, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at Dr. Weissman Psychology in Westlake Village, CA. He is also providing therapy in Kaiser San Francisco’s Focused Virtual Therapy program. Dr. Weissman treats patients with problematic internet use and internet addictions, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, life transition difficulties, failure to launch, and men’s issues. His dissertation titled, Impacts of Playing Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPGs) on Individuals' Subjective Sense of Feeling Connected with Others, has already been downloaded globally from 101 countries on 6 continents. Dr. Weissman is the founder of the subfield of psychology, Cyberneuropsychology. He currently holds two board positions with Ventura County Psychological Association and one with Mental Health Professionals of Conejo Valley. Dr. Weissman hosts a free podcast titled, CyberSense Power Up, which is available on numerous platforms, including iTunes, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. He is also the owner of the well-renowned tutoring company, Conejo Valley Tutoring.
