Title: Forensic Evaluation: Damages in cases of abuse of children/adults with Intellectual / Developmental Disabilities
Overview: The presentation will describe conducting an evaluation of children/adults with I/DD, including the initial inquiry (summary of the case), the individual’s communication abilities, age, and ability to participate in the evaluation. The steps involved in conducting the evaluation and involvement of those supporting the individual particularly family members. Using both standardized testing and in-depth interview with family members and the abuse victim will be explored including case examples.
