Greetings colleagues!

Please join us for the May meeting of the Divorce, Separation and Reconfigured Families SIG when we are joined by Dr. Alan Yellin, PhD presenting and leading a discussion on working with reluctant and refusal children in divorce and similar circumstances.

Dr Alan Yellin is a licensed psychologist who has been in practice for over forty years. He has been in practice in West Los Angeles working with children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Yellin did his post-doctoral fellowship at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. He has also worked at San Fernando Valley Child Guidance Agency, and he is a certified parent trainer. In his private practice he treats children with learning problems, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, fears, and social skills issues. Additionally, he has a specialty in working with children from divorced families as well as helping parents deal more effectively with their divorce. He does family therapy with children who are R and R (resistant and refusal). Dr. Yellin has been trained in intensive reunification programs as well. He is a Parent Plan Coordinator and a co-parenting therapist, and he helps parents to mediate their divorce. He is a member of AFCC and has lectured on divorce subjects to attorneys, minor’s counsel, and fellow therapists.
