36th ANNUAL CONVENTION CALL FOR POSTERS LACPA invites poster proposals from its student, post-doc/pre-licensed, and early career members (within seven years of receipt of doctorate.) Proposals on any research, literature review or theoretical topic related to the field of psychology will be considered. The LACPA Foundation will present awards of $300, $200, and $100 for the posters judged to be the top three at the Convention. Undergraduate students are not eligible for the awards, but will receive a certificate of participation. What is a poster? A poster is an excellent way to present your research findings, conceptual model, literature review, or innovative psychological intervention. Posters presented at the LACPA Convention are especially encouraged to help advance professional psychology by presenting information that will improve the practice of psychology. What does a poster look like? Key information (brief paragraphs, bulleted outlines, diagrams, tables, graphs) is posted on a sheet of paper, typically in large print to make it easier to read. Posters need to be printed on a single large sheet of paper approximately 24” high x 36” wide. (Do not mount on display boards.) FedEx Office, Staples, or other printing businesses can usually print posters from a PowerPoint file for a reasonable price. What does the presenter do at the Convention? Presenters will stand by their posters at the specified time to answer questions and engage in a dialogue with other professionals who are interested in the content. Presenters often provide handout summaries to interested Convention attendees. How do I submit a poster proposal? 1. To submit a poster proposal you must be a current LACPA student, post-doc/pre-licensed, or early career member (within seven years of receipt of doctorate). 2. Email word doc submission of proposals is required. 3. All submissions must be received no later than April 15, 2024. Please call the LACPA office if any clarification is needed.
