Dear Colleagues,
Our next LACPA Assessment SIG Meeting occurs in two weeks on Monday, 02/27/23, from 12-1 PM. 
Our guest presenter is  Kerith Glass, EdD, ATR-BC. She is an art therapist and a school psychologist and includes art therapy elements as part of the psychoeducational process in both school settings and private practice.
Her presentation, "Art therapy as a tool in the psychoeducational process," will focus on different types of art therapy tasks that are used as a contribution to the psychoeducational process. Case studies will be presented that compare standardized ways of looking at a child to what information is shared through an art therapy task. This includes reviewing the artistic elements in a drawing and how that can connect to learning and attentional challenges as well as social and emotional difficulties. Participants will be encouraged to share their own impressions of what they see in the artwork.
