Virtual Ecopsychology Special Interest Group
Saturday, August 26, 2023, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM PDT
Category: Special Interest Groups

You’re invited to LACPA’s next Eco-Psychology Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting,

Led by Pamela McCrory & Debra Borys via Zoom
on Saturday, August 26, 3 to 5 PM

We invite you to join our group of mental health professionals and graduate students at the next virtual
meeting of the Los Angeles County Psychological Association’s Eco-Psychology SIG, where we explore
emotional reactions to climate change (our own and potential clients’) and psychological tools for
addressing those. This meeting will focus on unique aspects of grief reactions to climate change and to
the mounting climate-triggered disasters, and associated tasks and mechanisms of mourning and
coping. We will briefly share some information followed by experiential activities and interactive
discussion. The meeting will begin with attendees introducing themselves and their eco interests,
concerns, or projects. There will also be time for sharing/discussion of any pertinent articles, world
news, or local events in the eco arena.

Please RSVP by August 25 to [email protected] to receive the Zoom link, to be sent around
midday August 26. For questions about this SIG in general, you may contact either Debra Borys, PhD at
[email protected] or Pamela McCrory, PhD at [email protected]. We look forward to
meeting with you.
