Virtual Ecopsychology Special Interest Group
Saturday, March 16, 2024, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM PDT
Category: Special Interest Groups

The Ecopsychology Special Interest Group will meet via Zoom on Saturday March 16 from 3 - 5 PM. All LACPA members are welcome to attend. The SIG focuses on the impact of climate change, sustainability, and exploring applications in therapy for addressing patients’ and our own environmental concerns. Discussion and activities encompass social justice issues, human values, and the disparate impact of climate change on disadvantaged groups.

We will open with attendee introductions and an experiential activity. A segment of the meeting will be devoted to interactive discussion about the risk of breakdown in ethics and human values in the face of heightening environmental deterioration and competition over resources. Attendees at this first meeting of the new year will also be invited to contribute to selecting topics for the upcoming year.

The March and April SIG meetings are open to non-members so feel free to invite a colleague who might be interested in our SIGs and LACPA in general.

For questions about the SIG you may contact Debra Borys at [email protected] or Pamela McCrory at [email protected]
