President’s Lab Series
If you have missed the announcements, I will be facilitating a three-part training series, based on my area of expertise: the intersection of nutrition and mental health. The series kicks off this month on Friday, March 27th, and continues on the following two Fridays: June 26th and October 2nd. Each module will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. Module 1 will address nutrition and anxiety; Module 2: nutrition and depression; and Module 3: nutrition and trauma. As much as this is a professional development opportunity for mental healthcare providers, this is also a community based event. In other words, all are welcome to attend. Every human living in a body is invited. So please—invite your colleagues, your students, your friends, and your family. I want as many as possible to connect with this information. I am very excited, and I look forward to seeing you at the first module.

Annual Convention
Our big show is fast approaching. I am referring to our annual Convention. It will be held on Saturday, May 2nd at the Hilton Woodland Hills. Dr. Debra Kawahara, the 2025 APA President, will deliver our keynote presentation, and I will be facilitating a session to discuss the effects of sociopolitical distress. The Annual Convention is our organization’s family reunion of sorts. Yes, there will be continuing education. Yes, there will be food. Yes, there will be information from exhibitors. However, above all, there will be smiles, laughter, and memories. For more information on this event and others mentioned here, visit our website for details.

LACPA family, I see you; I admire you; and I appreciate you.
