Provides a forum for Los Angeles area sport psychologists and other sport psychology consultants to interact, collaborate, share ideas and information; educates LACPA members and the public community about the scientific and clinical contributions in sport and performance psychology; represents the professional interests of member psychologists specializing in the sport and performance psychology; and provides ongoing support and education regarding effective and ethical practice, skill-building in sport and performance psychology.

Activities include a) roundtable discussion groups that focus on topics such as performance anxiety, imagery interventions, goal setting for athletes and performers, performance barriers, arousal control in performance settings, adherence to pre-performance routines, self-talk in athletes and performers, youth sports challenges for the psychologist, collaborative treatment teams, ethics in sport psychology settings, social psychology of sport & performance, performance assessments, b) speakers who are specialists in Sport & Performance psychology, and c) networking with others who likewise want to have increased face-to-face interaction in Sport & Performance psychology for psychologists.
