Alicia Tolerico, Psy.D.

 

 

Please share with your fellow LACPA members a little about yourself.

I am an early career licensed psychologist employed at AToN Center located in San Diego County. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. I received my Master’s Degree and Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. I specialize in trauma and substance addiction. I am currently the Chair of the Early Career Psychologist Subcommittee at LACPA. I enjoy spending time with my dogs, snowboarding, riding my Peloton, and cooking with my husband.

In light of my Presidential theme, “Creating Connections and Building Bridges...Together,” I want to share with you one of my Presidential initiatives in 2021 - the “BRIDAL” program. What’s this? Is somebody getting married? Am I a matchmaker? No, BRIDAL is an acronym for Building Roads to Inclusion and Diversity aLACPA. When the Diversity Task Force first met on October 11, 2020, members shared their personal discomfiture with LACPA - from not feeling welcomed to not seeing Los Angeles (at large) represented by either our Board or by the keynote speakers and presenters at our annual conventions.
